I want to sarten some shrimps with garlic and butter, just like in the restaurants, but still, there is something missing. I tried some salt too....

Kosher Salt, butter (make sure it's margarine or sweet butter), lots of garlic and some oregano is all I can think of.

And Porthos, isn't Cari spice along the lines of Curry powder?
